The building and property which now house Mills GM was originally the Mills Ford dealership when they moved from their downtown location in June, 1986. A decade later, the Mills purchased the GM franchises from the Imgrund family and began the conversion from a Ford store (which is now located 1 mile north) to a General Motors store. In December, 1996, Mills GM opened in its current location.
